Business Workshops

The Council’s educational programs offer a unique opportunity for businesses to participate in comprehensive business development workshops. These half-or-whole day events bring together fortune 500 companies, government entities, minority-owned businesses, and academia to exchange insights, explore emerging trends and educate NYNJMSDC certified suppliers and members.

We offer a range of business development workshops and programs for our certified-MBEs and RBE’s to choose from that are aimed at improving and expanding your business. These programs can take different forms, from mentorship programs to symposiums. The goal of these business development programs is to equip entrepreneurs and business owners with the knowledge, skills and resources they need to grow their businesses.

With a focus on networking and professional development, we want to see our certified-MBEs grow when they attend any of our educational programs. During all of our business development workshops we provide time for networking to foster new growth and connections with our corporate members and MBEs. Help grow your business and get the most out of your certification by attending any of our exclusive business development opportunities below.

The educational programs offered by NYNJMSDC offer a platform to build up to the full potential of your business. Our business workshops are made especially to give entrepreneurs and company owners the resources, know-how, and instruments they need to grow their businesses.

These workshops provide practical knowledge and insights that guarantee you will leave with workable business strategies. We want to see the success and well-being of MBEs. Participate in our business workshops to network and learn.

Each of our business development workshops and events are designed to speak to specific industry issues and offer actionable takeaways that inspire and inform our members.

Symposiums

Each year, The Council works with leading diversity suppliers to bring together industry experts and discuss diversity, equity and inclusion barriers and best practices. In 2022, we partnered with Mount Sinai Health System for a Healthcare Symposium. Attendees spent the day at their corporate offices discussing the many ways we can advance diversity and sustainability in the healthcare supply chain. Also in 2022, we worked with Citi to bring together sustainability leaders from numerous companies for a Sustainability Symposium. This virtual event spoke broadly about supply chain sustainability, but also focused on understanding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) as an integral part of everyday business.

How to Do Business with…

Our “How to Do Business With…” series is designed to help our certified-MBEs get more information on the supplier acquisition process for different types of industries. Because one of the hardest parts of being a minority-owned business, can be learning how to get your foot in the door and secure contracts from companies that will help you exceed your revenue goals. From Fortune 500 companies like Pfizer and Estee Lauder Companies, to other local and national corporate member organizations like the University of Rochester and Tough Leaf, our members can expect to better understand what these companies are looking for—and how to win their business.
