8:30am – 12:30pm Next Level Business™: The Business Catalyst to Increase Millennipreneur Growth

The Next Level Business™ Summit is designed with millennial entrepreneurs in mind. While starting and running a business is not new, the challenges of maintaining and sustaining a business for first generation owners and young CEOs can be overwhelming. Participants will be introduced to the Business Catalyst™ model. Developed by LaSonya Berry, CEO of McPherson|Berry, The Business Catalyst model will INFORM participants about ways to TRANSFORM business ideas into sustainable enterprises that OUTPERFORM. This half-day session provides best practices in business ownership to save time, minimize costly mistakes, and develop strategies that positively impact business growth. Tips on leveraging Council resources to identify new opportunities, develop productive networks and accelerate business growth will also be shared.

Every year, The Council celebrates achievements made by the minority business community. The Power Luncheon brings together corporate executives, public officials, Council members, and minority business owners seeking to create strategic partnerships with the minority business community.

provides suppliers an opportunity to meet with corporate and government members of their choice in an open but formal environment.

Format: Each session is 20 minutes. Each participating corporate or government representative is assigned a roundtable of 10 for the duration of the session. Eligible firms are then able to choose which table they would like to sit at for each cycle. Once the MBE is seated at a table, the firm has one minute to present an elevator pitch outlining the company’s capacity as well as what differentiates it from the competition. After introductions, representatives have an opportunity to ask questions and engage in round-table discussions. At the end of the 20-minute cycle, all firms must move to another representative’s table.

Corporate Connections: MatchMaker

is a matchmaking session where corporate and government representatives select suppliers with whom they want to meet.

Format: Each session is 15 minutes. Each corporate member can schedule up to nine matchmaker meetings. Early registration for MBEs is required for appointment consideration. Only Council-certified suppliers are eligible to attend the Corporate Connections session.
