Deborah Wiggins, Outgoing Treasurer of the Board, Manager of Supplier Diversity – University Hospital of New Jersey

Deborah is responsible for the Hospital’s supplier diversity initiative which includes supplier sourcing, retention, development and community outreach with a focus on building relationships with suppliers, corporations, and other community stakeholders.

Deborah serves as the vice chair of the Council’s Education & Programming Committee and is the outgoing treasurer of The Council’s Board of Directors.

University Hospital is an independent medical center with 519 licensed beds, an active medical staff of more than 600 and more than 3,100 employees. They are a regional resource for advanced care in a wide range of medical specialties. It is also home to northern New Jersey’s Level I Trauma Center and to specialty programs such as the Center for Liver Diseases and the Comprehensive Stroke Center.

The hospital utilizes diverse suppliers in a number of categories as prime or subprime suppliers. Procurement is primarily done through an RFP process. Suppliers should check the hospital’s web site for competitive bid opportunities as well as information on their processes.
