Corporate Spotlight: Sanofi

Kathleen Castore has worked for Sanofi for almost twenty years.  She has held positions in marketing operations, purchasing, and procurement, and is currently Head of Supplier Diversity & Sustainability, NA Procurement Excellence.  She is responsible for the strategy to increase Sanofi’s opportunities to buy locally, regionally, and nationally ensuring a good source of supply while developing mutually profitable business relationships with small, minority, women, LGBT, and veteran-owned businesses.   Kathleen is a constant advocate for supplier development and utilization of small and diverse business owners, doing all she can to assure them the most significant participation in Sanofi’s total purchases.

Kathleen has been a mentor in the Supplier Diversity Mentoring Initiative with Diversity Alliance for Science, Disability: IN, NMSDC NY, as well as, a Corporate Advisory Board member of Diversity Alliance for Science, NMSDC The Council, NaVOBA and previously on the Executive Committee for the NMSDC Healthcare Industry Group.  She is an active member of the supplier diversity community, collaborating with peers and advocacy groups on ways to increase contract opportunities for diverse businesses.  Kathleen is a current member and former co-chair of The ISM Supplier Diversity Pharmaceutical Forum, an industry group working to expand supply base diversity and development in the pharmaceutical industry.  She has also been a contributor, panelist, developer and facilitator for various workshops and organizations on supplier development.

John Lau is the president of Appliedinfo Partners, Inc. (AIP) Lau and his wife, Betty, started  AIP in 1990. Lau also has recently created two “innovative” divisions: D2 Life Sciences and D2TEAM-Sim.

D2 Life Sciences helps organizations advance understanding of their companies’ science through creative, digital storytelling. This division produces eye-catching and innovative rich media solutions to convey complex healthcare and scientific concepts in entertaining and memorable ways for life science organizations. D2 Life Sciences products educate audiences and help them “get it.”

D2TEAM-Sim, offers highly interactive eLearning courseware technology for cybersecurity, national defense, and corporate clients. Based on its state-of-the-art interactive training platform called DIF (Distributed Instructions Framework), D2TEAM-Sim provides in-house capability to develop interactive virtual training content to the more than 40 schools of the  US Army’s Training and Doctrine Command.

D2TEAM-Sim recently announced a partnership agreement to address the growing demand for high-fidelity 3D virtual training solutions for the Department of Defense and other aerospace customers.
