The Council has a full schedule of educational and networking events this year -- all designed to assist our constituents in achieving their business goals.

This month, we will celebrate the achievements of Black Americans in the history of the United States. In fact, there are more than 2 million businesses in the U.S. that are owned -- with more than 200,000 domiciled in the New York Metropolitan area-- by Black Americans.

Throughout the month of February we will be hosting several events on behalf of our corporate members and certified minority business owners. Our first Breakfast Biz Meet-up will be held on February 15th in the office of the Council. This event will bring together corporate members and minority business owners to network, develop new, and renew relationships that may lead to new business opportunities. We will also hold our corporate quarterly educational meeting on February 23rd. This meeting will provide our corporate members with access to information on ways to enhance their individual supplier diversity programs. Please view our full calendar of events on our website at for further information on these and other exciting events that are being undertaken by the Council.

All the best,
Terrence Clark, President & CEO

TCGI International

Avis Yates Rivers, CEO, has been at the helm of TCGI International, since its inception in 2008. She has founded and owned several predecessor companies since 1985.

TCGi and its affiliated companies have always sought unique, forward-thinking solutions and ways to deliver critical IT services to its customers. They create custom-tailored programs based on a customer's present and future needs. In doing so, they have established strong, strategic, long-term relationships with a long roster of corporations all across the country.

Many Council events such as the Business Opportunity Expo and Awards Gala allowed TCGi to meet many other corporate members through the years, which often led to business opportunities. These connections led to Avis being introduced to Darrien Pinkman, Director, IT Procurement at Merck on a visit to their headquarters.

"Solving it forward."

Today, these three simple words powerfully and concisely articulate the progressive solutions, customized programs, long-term partnerships and improved ROI for clients that are at the heart of everything TCGI does. Here are just a few instances of TCGi's commitment to service and growth:

In its early days, TCGi created client-specific asset recovery programs for companies such as PSEG, Merrill Lynch®, DuPont® and Disney. Each one addressed unique circumstances and goals, streamlining their practices of end-of-life management of IT (and other) assets.

Working closely with Verizon Business Services, TCGi launched-and managed for 14 years-a point-of-sale Automated Licensing Application for the NY State Department of Conservation/Fish & Game Division.

With expertise from Bank of America, TCGi expanded into the technology lease and finance arena by acquiring a spin-off company. This step would prove to be very beneficial when the need to create an Integrated IT Procurement Program arose at Merck.

TCGi's first successful year under contract yielded sales of $6 million, second year, $50 million, Third year projected to be about the same, while 2017 will show a marked increase. TCGi has hired 8 additional staff members to date, expanded operations to Singapore, and has recently launched its new procurement software platform called eProcure.
