A MESSAGE FROM THE COUNCIL PRESIDENT

Terrance Clark
May is National Asian Pacific American Heritage Month - Let us join our Asian Pacific business owners and corporate members in celebrating their Heritage. I would also like to thank all who attended our MBE Annual Conference, PSEG Supplier Diversity Conference and Sponsors Breakfast in April. Your continued support and participation in these events undoubtedly moves the Council forward in its goal to provide information that contributes to the development and growth of our constituents.

On May 3rd, in partnership with Key Bank in Buffalo, New York, we will co-sponsor an Access to Capital Seminar that will provide upstate MBEs with information on the process to access growth and development capital. On May 16th and in partnership with Morgan Stanley, we will provide a seminar on How To Do Business with Morgan Stanley, which will emphasize both their procurement and financial information. And on May 17th, The Council will host a Market Research Conference for our minority businesses to build their skills-set in developing and using market research to seek out new business opportunities, and to learn about new industry trends that can assist in the continued growth and development of their businesses. That event will be sponsored by Nielsen. All of these events demonstrate the Council's determination to grow and expand its relationships with our Corporate Members.

The Council's Quarterly Corporate Members Meeting will be held on May 4th at Guggenheim Partners in Manhattan, where we will present information on first-quarter operations and have a panel discussion on metrics and performance development for professionals in supplier diversity. We look forward to the full participation of all our Corporate Members at this meeting.

We will be hosting our 21st Annual Networking for Scholarship event at the Montclair Country Club on June 7th in Montclair, NJ, as well as our Business Opportunity Expo on June 8th at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ. These events will enable business owners and corporate members alike to interact, renew and develop relationships that lead to new business opportunities. Please look out for additional information on these two important events. On behalf of my colleagues at The Council, thank you for your continuing support of our Council.

Terrence Clark, President & CEO
