A MESSAGE FROM THE COUNCIL PRESIDENT

Terrance Clark
I hope that you are having an enjoyable summer.

In July, the Council successfully launched our inaugural Accelerate 2020 CEO Academy: Business Advancement II Program (CEO Academy) in partnership with Rutgers University School of Business. We extend many thanks to our primary program sponsor, Wells Fargo along with other participating corporate sponsors including Colgate-Palmolive Company, New York Life Insurance Company, Mondelez, Novartis, Sanofi, Citi and MetLife; as well as our peer to peer MBEs. This program combines graduate business-level instructions with executive coaching from our corporate members and mentorship from our Class 3 and 4 MBEs. The program will serve to develop 12 class 2 and 3 participating MBEs

over an eighteen month period.

August 1st marks our first Biz Connect powered by NYNJMSDC at Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine, NYC. As we move into the Fall we will continue to present other programs that enrich our corporate members and MBEs alike, working toward the common goal of continued development of supplier diversity.

We invite you to look out for more information on our Healthcare Symposium sponsored by Johnson & Johnson coming September 6-7.

We look forward to your participation in all of our upcoming events. Enjoy the remainder of the summer and let us know what the Council can do to assist you.

Terrence Clark, President & CEO

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED SPOTLIGHT

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: DIVERSANT

DIVERSANT is the largest African-American-owned IT staffing firm in the nation and has been certified by the Council since 2005. DIVERSANT has fully leveraged all aspects of the Council's networking opportunities, including the annual NMSDC Conference and local events in New York and New Jersey held throughout the year. It was through one of these events that Gene Waddy, CEO of DIVERSANT, met and connected with corporate business outsourcing company Automatic Data Processing (ADP) and its Director of Supplier Diversity, Paula Frank. This connection gave him a chance to discuss how his company could benefit ADP by becoming one of their IT staffing suppliers. A contract between the two companies was signed in 2008.
