September: Message from the President

A MESSAGE FROM THE COUNCIL PRESIDENT

Summer is drawing to a close and The Council is beginning to make preparations for the end of the year. We extend a sincere thanks to all who attended and participated in our Networking for Scholarships Golf Event and Business Opportunity Exchange during the month of June. We hope you were able to create positive business relationships through these events. Our August events, the Biz Connect and Upstate Xchange and Conference, were also a success. Your continued support and participation in these events undoubtedly moves the Council forward in its goal to provide information that contributes to the development and growth of our constituents.
Mid-September marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, and as we move toward the fall, The Council continues to initiate and implement programs geared toward minority business growth and supplier diversity program development. Our schedule for the last few months of 2017 is full of our educational and networking events.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, November 9th for our Annual Partnership Awards Gala at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel. We will be honoring and celebrating the achievements of The Council’s minority-owned firms and corporate members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in creating rewarding business relationships. We hope to see everyone there.
Our 7th Annual Healthcare Symposium will be held on September 12th at the Westchester Medical Center, and following shortly is our Sustainability Symposium at the Citigroup Center on October 3rd. We look forward to full participation from our members. NMSDC will be hosting its Annual Business Opportunity Exchange Conference on October 22nd to the 25th in Detroit, Michigan, where we will celebrate and recognize outstanding business leaders for their achievements. These events will enable business owners and corporate members alike to interact, renew and develop relationships that lead to new business opportunities. On behalf of my colleagues at The Council, thank you for your continuing support of our Council.

All the best,
Terrence Clark, President & CEO
